Chloe lately....

Hello friends!! Chloe has been doing great! She had her surgery 6 months ago now! Hard to believe how fast time flies! She has been back to her happy self. She walks well again. We just can't let her jump anymore. But she has been good with that. We are proud of her for being a strong doxie! The last picture was today, when I came home from work. I found that she made a nest with the pillow in her cage! At least shes comfortable! Sorry for the slow posts. We have been busy enjoying summertime in Florida, when we aren't working! Chloe had IVDD surgery.

Hello blog world. It has been a long while! But I wanted to share Chloes story. She had surgery recently on February 24Th. It happened very fast. We came home from work one day, and she was walking fine. I let her outside and she ran out, and suddenly I saw her legs go out to the side under her. She was unable to walk with her hind legs and was whimpering a lot. We brought her over to the vet, they said she needed an Xray, and gave her some muscle relaxers. They said to call if her legs started dragging completely. She was able to walk that night, but with little pressure on her legs. But by the next morning and later that night, her legs were completely dragging. When I told the vet the next morning they said I needed to take her to Coral Springs Animal Hospital. She had a herniated disc. She had to have surgery on her spine. Her legs still had deep pain, although they were dragging. They said the fact that she still had deep pain was good, because it meant she would be able to walk again after surgery. The surgeon said she did really well and she was lucky the herniated disc was in one area so it was a smooth surgery. I had heard of Invertable Disc Disease before, but I never thought it would happen to my Chloe. She is only four years old, turning five next month. But they said it happens mostly to dachshunds ages 3-5 years old. We have to be very careful with her, and she can no longer jump onto things. She is doing soooo well after surgery. She had surgery on Friday and was able to come home Sunday night. We made a sling for her to help her walk in the back yard, to go potty. And by Tuesday we started to see her move her back legs back and forth. She is now walking very well, under strict supervision. She still needs lots of rest. But she is a miracle pup. I am so proud of her. She is walking on rugs and in the grass outside very well. She had a very quick recovery after her surgery. It will still be about two months before things are back to normal. But I am so thankful we were able to help my Chloe. With out having surgery she would not have been able to use her back legs again, and she could have risked hurting her spine more. It was so hard to see her in pain, I had to do anything I could to help her.

Garden gnomes

We were garden gnomes for Halloween this year. I made gnome hats for the doggies too! :)

Stitch Rock, an Indie Craft Fair and Bazaar

Sorry for the very long break in blogging! Here are some photos from my first art show since I became Mrs. Carter! It was my second Stitch Rock. It is a great art show in downtown Delray. It is at a old schoolhouse gym. I just love it. It was so fun to be next to my sister and her peace owls again too! :)

Keys LOVE (continued)!

Here are a few more pictures from our weekend in the keys! I am so happy to be engaged! My ring is sooo pretty! It is opal and handmade, and he found it on Etsy! He even did research and found out opal is australian tradition for an engagement ring bc he knew I loved opal. And he surprised me during the sunset! The weather was so great in the Keys and I am so happy Chloe got to come! :)

Chloe visits the Venetian Pool!

We went to the historic Venetian Pool in Coral Gables on Sunday! I had never been before! It is so beautiful and was built in 1923! Every year they have a dog day and we had to go! Chloe had fun swimming with all her dog friends!

Sorry I have been a bad blogger lately! I hope you all had a lovely weekend! Here are some pictures from a mini adventure to Miami with Carter and Chloe. We had a fun day celebrating our 3 1/2 years of dating. We went to a fun park and walked around, I love all of the old buildings! :)

Chloe Face & Custom Painting ♥

Happy weekend!! I always look forward to the weekend all week! This picture above was Chloe face at the park last weekend. She wanted a treat. And the painting below is a custom painting I finished last weekend for Marynell of her doxie and doxie lab. This Saturday we are having a huge yard sale!
